Wrote feature stories on the mysteries of the Las Vegas Zoo, profiled Big Elvis, wrestled with biochemistry and pondered the meaning of graffiti on the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Spot news, too. More clips here.

Web Producer, Los Angeles Times, June 2005 – April '06
Selected stories and photos for front page of the website and maintained the center HTML file. Wrote headlines and captions. Some raw coding.

Dogsbody, Los Angeles Times Sunday Opinion section, December '04 – December '05
Wrote a small language column called "Word Watch," did the occasional odd piece for the front of the book, fact-checked articles and wielded a mean Nerf gun.

Editor in Chief, UCSB Daily Nexus, 2002 – 2004
Oversaw 40 editors and production of an independent daily paper. Edited or approved every article in the paper. Trained reporters and staff writers. Wrote for news and opinion sections. Looked concerned when people came in to yell.

Intern, Pacific Coast Business Times, March 2001 – June '01
Checked weekly civil lawsuit filings and federal bankruptcy filings. Wrote 5-7 news briefs per week and a full-length story every other week.
